Central Connecticut males’s basketball performs in-state rival Sacred Coronary heart on Thursday evening in Fairfield, CT. Tipoff on the Pitt Heart shall be at 7:00 p.m. This would be the first of two conferences between the squads this season. They’ll meet once more at Detrick Gymnasium on Feb. 4. Though followers is not going to be within the stands, the video games will stream at no cost on NEC Entrance Row.

CCSU will look to bounce again from a pair of losses at Bryant final week. Junior Zach Newkirk averaged 14.0 ppg, together with a career-high 17 factors in Friday’s loss. Sophomore Greg Outlaw, who leads the crew in scoring on the 12 months (13.1 ppg), posted a team-high 15.0 ppg final week. Central’s offense continues to rank third within the league’s statistical rankings in each subject aim proportion (.451) and three-point taking pictures (.347). Defensively, the Blue Devils grew to become simply the second crew to carry Bryant to fewer than 80 factors when it gave up 76 factors in Friday’s tilt.

The Pioneers rank second within the convention, hitting 9.1 three-pointers per sport to this point.

•    Central would earn its first win vs. Sacred Coronary heart since Feb. 21, 2015 (10 video games).
•    CCSU may finish a 2-game dropping streak and earn its 2nd street win of the 12 months.

•    Karrington Wallace posted 11 factors, 10 rebounds on Friday for his first profession double-double and the second by a Blue Satan in 2020-21.
•    Zach Newkirk scored career-highs in successive video games final week. He had 17 factors on Friday.
•    Nigel Scantlebury had 6 assists (0 turnovers) on Friday and has posted no less than 5 assists in a sport on 5 events this season.
•    CCSU held Bryant to 76 factors on Friday, simply the 2nd sport Bryant has scored 80 factors or fewer.

The 2 groups are assembly as soon as this week and can play once more on Feb. 4 when Sacred Coronary heart visits New Britain.  The Blue Devils will return to Detrick Gymnasium and host Mount St. Mary’s on Jan. 21-22.
