The Swiss Kestenholz Group has completed the purchase of the Mercedes‑Benz Niederlassung in Aachen. The handover took effect on 1 November 2026; the operation now trades as Kestenholz Aachen GmbH. The buyer says service, workshop appointments and customer contacts continue without interruption — important news for drivers, buyers and employees across North Rhine‑Westphalia.
Deal details and immediate changes
According to the dealer announcement and local press, Kestenholz took over the full site on Gneisenaustraße and assumed employment of all 166 staff at the former Mercedes‑Benz Niederlassung. Management says previously outsourced van (light commercial vehicle) sales and service have been consolidated back at the main Aachen location as of the takeover. The company confirmed the transaction became effective on 1 November 2026.
Kestenholz framed the acquisition as a continuity move: “Für unsere Kundinnen und Kunden stehen Verlässlichkeit und Kontinuität an erster Stelle.” ("Reliability and continuity for our customers come first."), the group quoted in its statement. Company executives also said the site will be developed long‑term to Mercedes’ retail standards and staff received preparatory training for group systems.
Why the logistics and operations shift matters
Operationally the decision to reunite passenger and van sales at the Gneisenaustraße site simplifies local vehicle routing, parts provisioning and workshop scheduling — especially for transporters that require larger service bays. Kestenholz said the reorganisation brings the van business from Eschweiler back to the Aachen main site, a change that will affect short‑haul vehicle flows and aftersales parts stocking in the immediate region.
